Brushstroke - Jome - Brushstroke
I stumbled on Brushstroke when it first came out last year. I wasn't sure about it at first but I usually make myself listen to at least a verse and chorus before skipping a song. I'm glad I did. The chorus on this one is catchy. I'm a sucker for a song with a rhythm section that sounds like it could be a part of STOMP. the song hits the sweet spot around the 2 minute mark.
When You Love Someone - James TW - First Impressions
This song. All the feels. It's an honest look at a family splitting up from the perspective of a parent talking to their kid. You may have heard it, it's pretty popular. If you haven't, you should listen. It's not a song you want to put on repeat and jam out to but it's one with a message and a reminder of the struggles some people go through.
Surrender - Tor Miller - American English
Tor Miller has such an interesting sound. Very old school sounding but also very current. I think he's the type of artist you like or you don't with no in between really. This song in particular really hooked me and I've been a fan since, you should give it a shot.
Missing You - Erik Hassle - Innocence Lost
I have loved Erik Hassle for a long time now, since his first single Hurtful came out back in 2010. He's just so good. Missing You is catchy and sad in classic Erik style. He knows his way around a good sad groove, think JT, Cry Me A River-esque stuff. If you like the the song, the Olov Remix is definitely worth a listen too.
I Believe In You - Tyler Hilton - Ladies & Gentlemen
Remember One Tree Hill? Remember the musician who was always getting involved in the other character's relationships? Chris Keller, played by Tyler Hilton. Now try and put all of his character's past behind you because in real life Tyler is an artist who has been putting out great music for years without the credit he deserves. This song is one of my personal favorites along with his cover of John Waite's Missing You.
Cover The Earth - Daniella Mason - Cover The Earth
This song just dropped last week. I love Daniella Mason, but I was not expecting this song. It's the most Christian non-Christian(as far as I know) song I've probably ever heard. Seriously, I'm about ready to do this Sunday for worship. I can't really say enough good things about this song because it's my favorite right now. If you listen to nothing else from this week's list, listen to Cover The Earth.
Two months worth of Music Monday. Thanks again for joining me. See you in seven days.
