Weekly Favorites - 11.11.17

Another edition of Weekly Favorites. I'm back home after a quick, last minute vacation. I had a good time, but already back to work which is why this is coming a little bit late.

Minimalism

Minimalism - Book - The Minimalists

I'm sure you've either seen or heard of the Minimalism documentary on Netflix by now. This is the book by the two guys in the documentary. As far as minimalism books go, it's a little different. This book is more focused on their stories interspersed with "how-to"s and their opinions. I'm about halfway through at the moment, so far I'm enjoying it a lot. Take my enjoyment with a grain of salt though since I am quite hooked on all the minimalism stuff. If you're anything like me though, and love all things minimalism, check this book out.

COD WWII

Call of Duty: WWII - Video Game

I'm not usually one to play the COD games, not for a long time at least. They have got me hooked in again with the latest release, a throw back to how they got their start with an old school war FPS. This game is set during WW2 obviously but instead of feeling like a grand overarching story of the war it's focused in on a small group of characters and their experiences. So far I love it. The graphics are incredible, the storyline and acting is top notch. There are some notable actors thrown in there and it's shocking how accurate they look. I'm only a few chapters into this game but I can tell I'm going to be sinking quite a bit of time into it.

Little Potato Company

Roasted Fingerling Potatoes - The Little Potato Company

I LOVE ROASTED POTATOES. You honestly don't understand how deep my love is for a crispy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside, roasted potato with a little salt, pepp, and EVOO. This particular brand is my favorite, they always turn out great. This brand is also pre-washed which is a bonus. I eat roasted fingerling potatoes like this about once or twice a week for lunch. Here's a brief recipe if you're in the mood to lunch like CamScott.

Slice fingerlings lengthwise. Season with Salt and Pepper. Toss in just enough EVOO to evenly coat. Place potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet, skin up, meat or flesh(whichever name you prefer) side down. Bake at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes.

Trust me when I say these are crazy delish.

Your Name

Your Name - Movie

This movie. So freaking good. It's about two people, a guy and a girl, who swap freaky Friday style with each other randomly but then have no recollection of it. So, they figure out ways of communicating via journals and such. That's the basic premise, but there's much more to it that I don't want to share and spoil it for you. It's some of the most beautiful and detailed animation I have ever seen. Honestly at times it was almost shocking how stunning everything was. I can't recommend this movie strongly enough. It's one of the best movies I have watched this year.

A little thrown together this week, but don't overlook Your Name it's a real gem. Hope you find something you liked, or maybe I reinvigorated your love of roasted potatoes, who knows. Either way, thanks for joining me again. Until next time.
