Weekly Favorites - 10.6.17

Welcome to my very first Weekly Favorites. I like neat things and search them out regularly. I hope that these posts become a place where you can come find something new you haven't heard of, or maybe we even share some similar interests.

I will avoid posting music in these and save that for Music Mondays, beside that anything is fair game from Movies and TV Shows to Gadgets, Games and Grooming Products and who knows what else.

Ok, Let's get this party started!

Walnut iPhone Dock - Grovemade - $79

This iPhone dock was given to me as a gift awhile back and it is still one of my favorite things. It's so well made, it's obvious when you see it and hold it. The base is made of Anodized Aluminum, and the top is a solid piece of Oregan Claro Walnut wood. There is a magnet in the wooden top, (which you can see in the last pic) to keep it secure on the base. The dock weighs 1lb 8oz without a cable or charging brick connected, so your iPhone is gonna stay in this thing. The base also uses microsuction to grip smooth, solid surfaces, so your phone isn't going to be sliding off that desk or table anytime soon. Honestly, everyone should have a dock this nice.

This Is Us

This Is Us - TV Show - NBC

As of this writing all episodes are available to watch on Hulu Plus.

THIS SHOW. The second season recently started and it's still so good. I don't think I've ever watched a show that is so consistently great and emotional. I am INVESTED in the lives of these characters. I don't want to say too much about it because if you haven't seen it and don't know the premise, the Pilot episode will throw you for a loop. I remember the first time I watched it and I was blown away, so I watched it again the next two days. If you don't watch it, go now because it's so worth it. If you do watch it then we're pretty much best friends because I could talk about it all day. Oh, and before you watch be sure and grab some tissues.

Destiny 2

Destiny 2 - PS4 and XBOX One (coming soon to PC) - Video Game

Remember Halo? Well, Bungie the company that made Halo, came out with this game called Destiny a few years ago. Destiny was alright with some major problems at launch that were mostly fixed over time with expansions and updates. The basic vibe of Destiny is a FPS(First Person Shooter) like Halo combined with a MMORPG(Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) like World of Warcraft, with a dash of Diablo loot love thrown in. I played the first game and thought it was just ok. I am hopelessly addicted to Destiny 2. They have improved the formula in almost every imaginable aspect. The story, accessibility, balance and mission design are all substantially better. If you like a good FPS and just fun games in general check this one out. I play on PS4 so if you end up getting it for that system hit me up on PSN CamScott89 and we'll run a Strike together for some sweet loot.

Joe and Maddie

Joe and Maddie Greer - Social Media Rockstars - Photographer and Blogger

Wedding Photo Credit - Gregory Woodman - WoodmanWeddings.com

I have followed Joe and Maddie for years now on Instagram. They're the coolest couple, but not cool in an unapproachable way. They are cool like you think you'd be besties with them given the chance. Joe is an incredible photographer(he actually took the iPhone background on the picture of the phone dock above) and Maddie runs a great blog, but I really just enjoy following their everyday day lives through Instagram. Do you love watching wedding videos? Well, theirs is mind-blowing. They got married in ICELAND. Ugh. It was beautiful. I'll leave links to the video and both of their Instagram pages below, so no excuses. Click Click.

AWAY - The Carry-On - Luggage - $225

I bought this luggage in May so I've had it for a few months now and taken it on a few trips. Flights and drives for the full experience of course. I absolutely love it. It's been dropped, thrown and run through the pouring rain and it still looks great. AWAY has a great lifetime warranty if anything should ever break, but so far so good. The wheels on this thing glide like it's floating on a cloud next to you. The compression straps with the separating panel are so useful. The TSA safe lock, included laundry bag with zippered pocket for storage, and flat handles all show the attention to detail they've put into this product. The Carry-On also has a built in battery for your phone or tablet, with two USB ports on the top of the luggage under the extending handle. If you're concerned about the battery being an issue for the plane it's hasn't been for me yet. They of course thought of this too, they included a TSA approved screwdriver which you can use to remove the battery if necessary. I just love everything about this bag and plan on buying The Large model soon. If you're interested in buying anything from AWAY yourself then feel free to use my referral link below to save $20, I also get $20 to spend there if you do so it's a win win.

Well, that's it for the first ever Weekly Favorites. I hope you found something you liked. Thanks for reading.
