May I Have This Dance - Francis and The Lights - Farewell, Starlite!
This song gives me major Peter Gabriel, In Your Eyes vibes, which is one of my all time favorite songs btw. The entire album "Farewell, Starlite!" is really incredible but this was the song that I first stumbled across and loved. The soft Phil Collins type vocals with the perfect synth swells create such a great listen on top of a great beat. Give it a listen, I think you will love it too.
Come Close - Ry-Lo - RYLO
Ry-Lo is one of my newest finds. Her self titled EP, released just recently, has been on repeat since one of my favorite bloggers used this song in a video he posted. You know how some songs just automatically make you think of what it's music video should look like? I just feel like this should be her walking through the desert at night, falling stars landing all around her filling up the desert, before dissolving into the air like a mist once dawn breaks.
Stand By Me - Bootstraps - HOMAGE
First off this song is just tops, a classic I think most everyone knows and loves. I first heard this particular version on the new Power Rangers movie surprisingly enough. I never expected to come out on the other end of Power Rangers with some new music, but I'm glad I did. Bootstraps cover is such a great atmospheric take on the old song with moments that feel like it could get huge but his vocal keeps this nice mellow balance throughout.
Sushi King - Niki & The Dove - Sushi King
Niki & The Dove are one of my favorite bands. I first heard their Instinct album back in 2012 when it was released and I've been hooked ever since. Sushi King was a little weird even for me at first but now I can't stop listening. The song has this groove that I just love and it gives me retro vibes with splashes of MGMT(not a ton but enough that they could be musical cousins or something). Listen to this one at least two times before you move on, I really think it might just grow on you.
The Beast Sinfonia - Masakatsu Takagi - The Boy and The Beast Soundtrack
First off, this is a great anime film you should definitely see if you like animated films at all. Now that I've said that, let's talk about this song. The track is my favorite from the film. It's all over the place, horns and strings that almost sound like they're arguing and seeing who is the loudest, most beautiful, or most important to the song. It's chaotic but orderly at the same time. It's a burst of energy in song. Just go listen to it, you may or may not like it but it will get you hype.
